Job Description

Intel's Server Firmware Architecture and Design on the Server Firmware team is looking for a Power Management Firmware Engineer to join their team. This team drives the definition and development of Intel's integrated firmware for all Server SOCs. Software development responsibilities may be quite diverse, depending on the unique needs of the job.

 

Your responsibilities in this role will be as follows:

  • Evaluate the impact of architecture features on SOC power and performance for different workloads and operating conditions.
  • Execute lab experiments, collect and analyze power and performance data using Lab equipment.
  • Troubleshoot system issues related to hardware, OS, driver, BIOS, and applications.
  • Develop firmware to manage the power on the SOC including algorithms related to thermal and power control, as well as platform power configuration.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Minimum Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related degree with 3 plus years of experience OR a Master's Degree is preferred:

Minimum of 6+ months experience with:

  • Computer Architecture
  • Knowledge of hardware-software interaction as related to writing software to configure and control an SOC system.
  • Programming in Perl or Python Scripting
  • Programming in C/C++
  • Object oriented programming
