The Special Projects Group is seeking a Power Electronics Design Engineer for the Hardware Engineering Team. The candidate will be responsible for the evaluation and implementation of power electronics topologies as well as the design, bring-up, and design verification of power electronics and control boards. The position requires a hands-on approach, a can-do attitude, a passion for exploring diverse aspects of electrical design, excellent multi-disciplined teamwork, and a willingness to take on risk.
Key Qualifications
Design, simulation, and analysis of power electronic topologies and circuits including: power supplies, MCUs, gate drive, power stage, and protection circuitry
Defining design requirements, schematics, constraints, board stack-up, and layout from product-level requirements
Circuit prototyping, characterization, and validation
Specification development and documentation of compliance
Perform failure analyses such as DFMEA and worst case circuit analysis (WCCA) as
well as failure analyses on products in design verification
Developing test and validation plans and documenting test results
Design, building, and configuring complex test setups
Data analysis generated from factory builds and lab experiments
Presenting designs and test results to a group of diverse set of engineering focus groups
including EEs, MEs, EMC, thermal, and others
Generating and accepting constructive feedback in brainstorming / design review
forums
Education & Experience
BS in Electrical Engineering required, MS and PhD highly valued.
