The department of Electrical Engineering (ISY) is central to the engineering education at the Institute of Technology, one of four faculties at Linköping University, and this regards both basic and applied knowledge. The research is based on industrial needs, and ranges from basic research to direct application in collaboration projects.


LINKÖPING UNIVERSITY Hereby advertises a position as Postdoc in Communication Systems formally based at the Department of Electrical Engineering.

The Division of Communication Systems has a vacant post-doctoral position in the area of digital signal processing in communication transceivers. The focus is on the development of computationally efficient algorithms for error estimation and correction in transceivers meeting the high performance requirements of emerging communication systems. Of particular interest are equalization and linearization techniques required to mitigate analog hardware impairments and it is crucial to minimize the computational complexity of the algorithms to enable energy-efficient hardware implementations. The algorithms will be developed and evaluated in software, based on real data obtained in an ongoing industry collaboration project.

A Postdoc will essentially carry out research. The position may also involve teaching, but during no more than a fifth of work time.

The applicant must have an outstanding track record of publications in top journals within one or several of the division´s research fields, and demonstrated independence and excellence in research.

The position requires a doctorate or an equivalent degree from a foreign university. The doctorate shall have been obtained no longer than three years before the expiration date of the application.

Appointment time
A Postdoc is appointed until further notice, but for no longer than two years. The appointment can be renewed if there are special reasons.

Starting date 
By agreement.

The University applies individual salary scales adapted to the experience of the employee and to the labour market.
