Come and join us! Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join our Internet of Things Group (IoTG) as a Platform Solutions Engineer!

In this role you will provide tactical and strategical technical support for IoTG Retail, Banking, Hospitality, and Education, aka RBHE products and/or product family. You will provide customer design win support as well as working with marketing counterparts to define scaling strategies. The role will also include leading and driving technology initiatives important to RBHE customers such as Digital Signage, media, graphics, etc.

The Platform Solutions Engineer (PSE) will work with the end user to create pull for the RBHE solution by providing unique insight into the technology that can most optimally solve the business need and setting expectations for cost, features, and schedule. The PSE will support the solutions team, consisting of Intel enabling engineers, System Integrator, ODM, and/or 3rd party, through the definition process. The PSE will work closely with segment marketing and product planning to provide segment use case driven features and performance requirements that influence the base platform roadmap to beat competition.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Representing RBHE reference architecture - Proof of Concepts, reference designs, benchmarks, etc. - to external customers, internal engineering, planning, and marketing teams.
  • Analyze, design, debug, and modify platform enhancements and/or new products.
  • Work directly with 3rd party vendors that develop application software and/or system hardware.
  • Manage internal product requirements to ensure customer requirements are escalated and communicated to the planning team.
  • Work with and coordinate with multi-disciplinary stakeholders across RBHE BUs, IoTG, and CCG.
  • Responds to customer/partner requests or events as they occur.
  • Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills in addition to the qualifications listed below.

  • Must be a team player with demonstrated experience technically influencing others.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the skills to work in a team environment.
  • Good understanding of SW OS, firmware, drivers a huge plus.
  • Good understanding of display protocols (HDMI, DP, MIPI, etc) preferred.
  • Solid presentation/communication skills.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork, classes, research and or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical STEM degree
  • 5+ years of experience with:
    • Hardware - Design/building HW, benchmarking, debugging.
    • Proficient in x86 architecture, memory, bus protocols, etc.
