Apple's Services, Analytics, Forecast, Efficiency Group is looking for a passionate and highly motivated planner that has proven experience in business planning, supply chain and operations. You will be responsible for translating forecasted demand into measurable signals shared with internal partners that drive procurement process and deployment of computing resources across Apple's global data centers. This is a highly transparent and multi-functional role, spanning across many groups: data center operations, global network services, finance, corporate procurement, supply chain, hardware engineering, project management, site reliability and software engineering.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of proven experience in a capacity-planning, supply chain or operations planning role. Decision maker who demonstrates integrity and self accountability
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills
  • Proven ability to collect, organize, and analyze large data sets.
  • Strong teammate who can work well with both engineering and non-engineering groups in matrix organization
  • Excellent collaborator with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of data center facilities, power & space, networking, hardware, cloud platforms and services

Description

Lead monthly supply and demand reviews with Executives, and drive capacity-planning activities that support Apple's long term Infrastructure needs.

Translate forecasted demand into a 12-month server capacity plan and long range power and space signal.

Develop and communicate multi-phased servers deployments, track changes and status updates to key partners, and drive resolution on blocked issues

Responsible for the timely and optimal allocation of resources to engineering groups.

Evaluate computing usage vs target and policies, and proactively investigate opportunities to clawback resources. Partnering with Finance and Data Engineering.

Track internal inventory levels, and develop standard methodologies in life cycle management

Create decision support reporting and tools for evaluating supply and demand across several key vectors.

Partner with Data Center operation teams to ensure adequate Power and Space is signaled, planned, and available globally to meet demand in short and long term.

Drive improvement in internal processes, data and tools that help streamline planning activities and decision making.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering/computer science, or other relevant field that demonstrates quantitative competence.
