Job Description

The Client Platform and Silicon Architecture (CPSA) group in Intel's Client Computing Group (CCG) is looking for a Senior Technical Leader to drive power and performance optimizations across various client devices.

 

The candidate shall join the PnP Platform Architecture team and will be responsible to build performance models, run simulations, perform technical decomposition for usages and set requirements for next generation client platforms.

 


Responsibilities and duties include but not limited to:
 

Define architecture enhancements to establish product leadership in power and performance, analyze and innovate architecture concepts, solve system-level issues and drive innovative features for client platforms.

 

The candidate shall perform a number of systems architecture functions including:
 

  • Guide the development of system C performance model for various platform ingredients - audio, DSP, sensing, power management micro-controller
  • Lead the technical decomposition of complex and concurrent usages in content creation, cloud collaboration and system experiences.
  • Define of PnP KPI/KEI requirements for various workloads across different sub-systems for SOCs, IPs and platforms on client roadmap.
  • Analyze different options and systems-level optimizations and enhancements for performance, responsiveness and battery life.
  • Identify, coordinate and drive Tech Readiness (TR) efforts related to PnP requirements and architecture enhancements in various systems components - SOC, platform, Windows OS, Chrome, device drivers and power management firmware.
  • Drive platform architecture functions including definition and system analysis of use cases, SOC IP features, disposition of bugs/issues, delivery of system architecture specifications.
  • Support all management reviews and customer design-win engagements related to PnP platform architecture.
  • Hands-on use of modeling and simulation tools for PnP architecture analysis across various components of SOC and platform including different IP blocks, clocks, power domains, buses and interfaces.

 

The selected candidate shall possess the following skills and experience:

 

  • Track record in driving system-level power and performance architecture enhancements for client devices including PCs, Laptops, 2 in 1s, Tablets, Desktops and workstations.
  • Strong working knowledge of client reference designs with platform components selection and tradeoff analyses (use-cases, power delivery, thermal management, performance and power management).
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows and Linux/Android environment for client platforms and devices.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform technical decomposition of concurrent usages to the hardware and software flows, performance bottlenecks and system partitioning.
  • Experience in analyzing cross-domain system-level bugs/issues and ability to work with cross-domain teams to drive PnP optimizations.
  • Strong working knowledge of SOC design, different IP blocks including CPU, GPU, IPU, Fabrics, I/O, sensors, DSP, audio, interfaces and interconnects.
  • Knowledge of engineering processes, power and performance modeling tools, and ability to influence key strategic decisions.
  • Experience in delivering or making significant visible contributions in management forums and customer design win reviews.
  • Programming skills in System C, C++ and python and experience in Instruction set Simulations for different types of low power cores and micro-controllers desired but not required.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.


Bachelor with 10+ years experience, Master with 7+ years experience or Ph.D. wiht 5+ years experience, in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related field.
