Job Description

The Chief Technology Office (CTO) group within Intel Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) is seeking a Platform Hardware Engineer to join our team.

You will be part of an exciting team that architects, develops, and validates new system level technology and innovations as part of our research initiatives which involves not only many Intel business groups but also various external leading companies and research institutes.

In this position, you will:

  • Be responsible for driving and coordinating with cross-functional and cross-geography teams for the completion of top-down milestones.

  • Work closely with substrate design team, manufacturing team for the design and assembly of the Multi-Chip Package (MCP), as well as technical partner(s) to integrate Intel FPGA and IP from our programs partner.

  • Conduct/participate in multidisciplinary research in the design, development, testing, and utilization of information processing hardware and/or electrical components, mechanisms, materials, and/or circuitry, processes, packaging, and cabinetry for central processing units (CPUs) and/or peripheral equipment.


You must possess the below minimum education requirements and minimum required qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes, project work, internships, and/or military experience. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of combined experience (3+ with a PhD) in one or more of the following areas:

  • FPGA Design (examples can include high-level design to synthesis, place and route, timing and power, verification, system bring-up, etc.)

  • Experience with Platform Design (examples can include architectural definition, PCB design, Signal Integrity Analysis, power integrity analysis, layout mechanical, thermal analysis, firmware software design)

  • Experience with system bring-up (early silicon power-on, system debug, and board re-work are required, along with experience using electronic analysis equipment in a lab environment, including high-speed oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, frequency counters, and data acquisition systems)

  • Experience with Verilog or SystemVerilog

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
