Job Description

Join us to develop new technology that will provide Intel a competitive advantage in programmable solutions. If you find it exciting to work in a diverse team that innovates with other Intel advanced technology groups, other industry leaders and academia, then we have your opportunity.

The Intel Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) has been delivering industry leading custom logic solutions to customers since inventing the world's first reprogrammable logic device in 1984. To expand the technology that provides us with advantages in programmable solutions, we are looking for a phenomenal intern to join our high-powered team.

The platform performance modeling team develops systems level behavioral models for architecture design space exploration to assist architects and planning teams to make the right design decisions. The ideal candidate must have a high level of skill both in software and hardware, a passion for technology, and be self-driven and comfortable with exploring new and unfamiliar areas.

The job will involve system level modeling for platform architecture exploration for power-performance analysis. The candidate will develop architecture behavioral simulation models for components like processors, interconnect, and peripherals or even complete SoC platforms using System C and C++. These models either may be modeled from scratch or will involve integration of models from third party vendors into our tool environment. The models must have a high level of accuracy and the engineering Intern should verify model correctness by writing unit tests and debugging mismatches against expectations.

The engineering Intern will continually refine the model based on input from architects, provide performance specifications to Intellectual Property (IP) design and validation owners and help verify that the models correlate with Register-Transfer Level (RTL) which may involve creating a verification plan, writing directed tests and checkers.
