The Intel Optane Group, within the Data Center and Artificial Intelligence group, is responsible for the development and commercial success of the Intel Optane technology. The Customer Engagement Team is seeking a Platform Application Engineer to help in the delivery of critical assets and engaging Intel customers' designing and qualifying their platforms for Intel Optane products.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Review customer reported issues requiring debug testing for completeness of details required for reproduction.
  • Reproduce customer reported issues for classification and initial attack of debug testing that will lead to the identification of root cause.
  • Respond to inquiries from customers to resolve questions and clarifications.
  • Participating in weekly debug review forums.
  • Planning and preparing customer support for volume validation stages including technical collateral publications.
  • Owns creation and maintenance of technical collaterals that enable customer validation and use of volume validation samples through working with technical experts' architects and other consultants for quality and accuracy.
  • Partner with product marketing to review product customer communications to assess gaps and anticipate customer inquiries.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field with 3+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • Hardware, software or firmware development
  • Validation or technical customer enabling
  • Server/workstation component product design

Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • Intel Architecture-based platforms and history with Microprocessor architecture, chipset architecture, system architecture, board design, post-silicon validation, firmware, BIOS, and software.
  • High-speed I/O interfaces (HSIO) such as DDRx memory, CXL, PCI-Express, I2C/I3C, and SMBus interfaces.
  • Debugging techniques and tools
  • Power/thermal utilities and OEM/Cloud Service Provider server customer needs.
  • HW and/or SW debug skills, preferably experience working with and analyzing output from test equipment such as the ITP, and test tools.
  • Simics.
  • Scrum method, source code control management (e.g., Git, SVN), and Security Design Lifecycle (SDL) certification.
