Join the Intel IPG Physical Design team as a Physical Design Engineer. Our team delivers analog layout for various mixed-signal IP technologies which are used by many products across Intel's spectrum of products, including client CPUs, Server CPUs and other products. Our global physical design team focuses on sensitive analog components of memory, high-speed IO, PLLs.

You will be involved in the Tech Readiness (TR) for new processes by focusing on the spec definition, review, and evaluation of the custom template cells which our team uses in our designs. You will work closely in a horizontal role with various IP teams and our suppliers to define, document, and maintain a spec that summarizes the physical and electrical requirements of all the IPG product portfolio to ensure that they can execute efficiently effectively. In addition, when the collateral cells are delivered, you will focus on reviewing the quality of the cells and working with all the stakeholders to provide clear and consistent feedback to our suppliers. This work will help ensure that IPG products and the processes that they are built on are industry-competitive for analog and mixed-signal design needs.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Define, document, and maintain a spec of physical and electrical requirements for custom template cells which IPG uses for their design needs
  • Review, evaluate, and provide feedback as the template cells are released
  • Build circuit and layout test-cases for exercising key characteristics of template cells
  • Troubleshoot a wide variety of issues such as problems with new PDKs and new design environments
  • Drive tasks and track progress with milestones independently with limited supervision
  • Consolidate and summarize feedback from IPG stakeholders and report out to suppliers

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Computer Engineering (CE) with 4+ years of experience -OR- a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Computer Engineering (CE) with 3+ years of

  • Analog and mixed-signal circuit and/or physical design
  • Electronic circuit functionality and behaviors
  • Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor CMOS and Very Large Scale Integration VLSI component design principles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering problem solving and analytical skills,
  • Knowledge of CAD layout and circuit software
