The People Operations Backgrounds team is seeking an Adjudication Specialist with demonstrable ability to succeed in demanding and ambiguous environments to assist with the day-to-day activities of the team and lead candidate outreach.

  • Outstanding judgment and decision making skills, excellent critical thinking abilities
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and executing responsibilities with minimal errors
  • Balances multiple priorities and partners, constantly communicating status updates
  • Ability to develop conclusions and present findings based on review of information collected
  • Capable of making decisions under tight timeframes with the discretion to advance issues as appropriate
  • Ability to communicate optimally and professionally at all levels of the organization, effectively tailoring communication and style to differing audiences
  • The ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality on sensitive material
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a collaborative environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to establish rapport, credibility, and influence
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Recruiting, HR and operations experience preferred
  • Experience with HRIS systems preferred (Workday, Oracle PeopleSoft, SAP, etc)
  • Experience with CRM system preferred (ServiceNow)
  • Fluency in French Canadian, Spanish, or Portuguese preferred

Description
- Assists in monitoring and reviewing corporate and retail background checks
- Assists in review of potentially conflicting information and seeks additional information to clarify
- Prepares briefs and escalates questionable aspects uncovered during the review of a background check investigation as appropriate
- Acts as a liaison between the team, internal partners, external organizations, and candidates
- Leads candidate outreach to discuss potentially sensitive information uncovered during the background check investigation
- Assists in responding to requests for information
- Assists in the research and review associated with internal audits
- Collaborates to identify weaknesses in existing procedures and communicates necessary corrections
- Provides training and help to partners both within and outside the Backgrounds team
- Maintains a strong working knowledge of local, state, and national legislation issues affecting the collection of background information
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent is preferred.
