As a PCIe IP Application Engineer in the Programmable Solutions Group (formerly known as Altera), you will serve as the technical subject matter expert for PCIe and provide solutions that allow our key customers to successfully meet market demands. Your specific role will have opportunity to, but not limited to the following:

  • Develop designs for next generation protocol IPs and Intel Interconnects, including PCIe Gen 3/4/5 and CXL

  • Participate in interoperability testing and compliance for protocol IP use cases and demonstrate performance to customers

  • Create collateral including protocol IP user guides, reference designs, technology demonstrations, tools, and macros

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams for issue resolution and protocol validation, and provide feedback to engineering on protocol IP quality and customer experience





You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors' Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field

  • Professional License will be required

  • 2+ years of experience with bring up and debug of PCIe


Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters' degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 2 years of experience in relevant course work in PCIe.

  • 3+ years of experience in customer support or customer facing role

  • 5+ years of experience with bring up of PCIe Gen 3/4

  • Experience with FPGA implementations in bringing up PCIe Gen 3/4

  • Experience with PCIe protocol validation compliance and protocol analyzer

  • Experience in interoperability compliance tests for PCIe

  • Experience with embedded software development, including Linux drivers, application development, PCIe protocol and software stack
