Substrate Packaging Technology Development SPTD Microelectronic Packaging Research and Development Engineers provide project management, new material development, and sustaining support for IC and/or semiconductor manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities will include but are not be limited to:
- Innovation problem solving development and continuous improvement of processes and materials through design of experiments and statistical methods.
- Develop materials/suppliers technology for new process/product before transferring to high volume manufacturing, meeting TV/product schedules, capabilities, platform standards and cost.
- Integrate materials/suppliers technology using materials/supplier development methodology, problem solving, and processes.
- Work with integration, program leads and key functional key partners to ensure success qualification of new materials.
- Communicate and influence materials and supplier technology targets and directions.

This is an entry level position and compensation will be given accordingly.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.
Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Knowledge and/or experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess Master's degree with 6+ months of experience or PhD degree with 1+ years of experience in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science Engineering or Physics or a related field. Must have the required degree or expect the required degree by September 2022

1+ years of experience in the following:

  • Engineering troubleshooting and analytical skills on integrated technology issues and experience working with broad team of other process and integration engineers.

Preferred qualifications:

1+ years of experience in the following:

  • Owning process tools with knowledge of SPC, PCS, equipment troubleshooting statistical design of experiments and process development.
