Job Description

The Georgia Tech Research Institute Talent Management Department is currently seeking a highly-motivated, organized, student assistant.

This role will report to the Talent Management – Organizational Development Manager, for the duration of the Educational Assistance automation project. In this role, the student will quickly and accurately transfer data from a variety of paper sources into database migration files. The student must be comfortable working independently, with large amounts of numerical data. Responsibilities will include:

  • Reconcile historical data; transfer data from paper format to computer or database files
  • Create and organize spreadsheets with large numbers
  • Compile data for standardized reporting
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents
  • Ensure all information is stored in backup files
  • Sort and organize paperwork after entering data for retention
  • Provide regular reports on project scope and task statuses
  • Maintain workplace confidence and protect operations by keeping data confidential
  • Other administrative tasks as required

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Georgia Tech student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours 
  • Must have a 2.0 or higher GPA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a data entry specialist/clerk
  • Ability to quickly and accurately type and enter data
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and Access)
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware
  • Basic understanding of databases
  • Attention to detail
  • Independent; self-starter
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Hours per Week

20 hours per week

The ideal candidate will be available to work for multiple, consecutive semesters while completing their degree.

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
