The Operations Strategy Lead will be responsible for partnering with factory leadership and subject matter experts across the enterprise to identify strategic business opportunities and challenges and develop creative and innovative solutions to realize desired outcomes. This position serves as an integrator between program and factory operations working to set priorities and support long-term growth plans.
This role will also support various cross business and cross-functional strategic initiatives as required, serving as a key interface for Operations across factories, mission areas, and other functions and businesses. The successful candidate will leverage a network within Operations and with other subject matter experts to deliver integrated and balanced solutions.
Periodic travel may be required (up to 30%, depending on location)
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Creating and implementing a factory strategy, identifying key drivers and critical areas for innovation within the factories, supported by corresponding roadmaps and investment plans
Facilitating new product introduction into the factories
Working within a matrixed team in multiple locations
Utilizing future demand signals and other leading indicators to define organizational objectives
Problem solving to bridge production realities to financial commitments.
Partnering to plan, manage, and oversee strategic process improvements and facility upgrade projects
Developing and presenting strategic solutions and regular progress reports to senior leadership
Developing and leveraging a detailed overview of customer needs, buying power, market demand, and factories capabilities to prepare for future business needs
U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date
Required Skills
8 years of progressively responsible related experience (e.g., strategic planning, business case development, program/project management, manufacturing or industrial engineering) or 6 years of experience with a Masters degree
Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following:
Participation and collaboration as part of a cross-functional or cross-enterprise team
Program or Factory Management
Factory layouts, capacity modeling or space utilization
Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) or New Product Introduction (NPI)
Developing a Rough Order of Magnitude estimate (ROM) or Basis of Estimate (BOE)
Participating in a proposal development team
Managing a capital or facilities expense project
Establishing metrics around goals/activities and reporting periodic progress and results to senior leadership
U.S. Citizenship status is required
Desired Skills/Experience
10 years of progressively responsible related experience (e.g., strategic planning, business case development, program/project management, manufacturing or industrial engineering)
Business Development, Finance or Supply Chain Management experience
Familiarity with the RMD portfolio of programs
Familiarity with IPDS process and gate reviews
Understanding of Lean Application/Six Sigma
Active U.S. Security Clearance
