Operations Quality Engineer Lead

This is an excellent career-growth opportunity for a candidate who is experienced in quality, engineering, or operations and is looking to move into a management development role. This role will report to the quality manager, and will help maintain Raytheon Technology's high quality standards within two different factories.

This position is located in Tucson, AZ.
  • Train, coach, and mentor quality engineers
  • Develop strong working relationships with the factory leadership, program leadership, and DCMA
  • Lead continuous improvement activities to help reach departmental and enterprise wide goals
  • Support factory and program alignment meetings to ensure priorities are properly aligned
  • Review and approve documents generated by the quality engineers, like first article inspection, root cause analysis, and inspection instructions
  • Assist in determining budgets for quality engineers and inspectors
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
  • Minimum of six (6) years Operations or Engineering experience: manufacturing, quality, aerospace, and defense
  • Experience with First Article Inspections, root cause analysis, and corrective action development using R6Sigma or ACE methodology
  • Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 quality management systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in the Sciences, Technology, Mathematics, Economics, or Engineering
Desired Skills:
  • Master's degree in the Sciences, Technology, Mathematics, Economics, or Engineering
  • Experience in PRISM, CABS, Business Warehouse, and RCAS
  • Experience with the Process Change Board (PCB)
  • Knowledge of EAC (Estimate at Complete), MRP (Material Resource Planning), and AOP (Annual Operating Plan) to understand what drives factory decisions
  • Understanding of manufacturing process, product, and testing
  • Ability to prioritize work based on customer and factory needs
  • Understanding the Raytheon Technology Quality Management System
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Passion for leadership
  • Ability to influence without authority
This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
