Southern New Hampshire University's College of Engineering, Technology and Aeronautics (CETA) is currently seeking an On-Campus Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering. Candidates should be passionate about teaching and mentoring future engineers and collaborating with industrial partners. We are looking for candidates in all areas related to Mechanical Engineering, including, but not limited to: (1) mechanics: modeling, experimentation and computation, (2) design, manufacturing, and product development, (3) control, instrumentation, and robotics, (4) energy science and engineering, (5) bioengineering, and (6) micro/Nano engineering.

 

Outstanding candidates should demonstrate the potential to develop a competitive educational program in Mechanical Engineering and embody a commitment to equity and inclusion, to education and mentorship of students, and to service to the campus and mechanical engineering profession nationwide. Industrial experience and ABET accreditation experience are highly valued.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Teach Mechanical Engineering major or elective courses and other core engineering courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Design and develop the frontier ME program and related courses to satisfy industrial needs, ABET accreditation requirements and the CDIO model
  • Advise and mentor students in academics and career or internship opportunities to ensure students' success
  • Be active in reaching out to industrial and academic partners
  • Participate in academic activities at the department, college and university levels
  • Be responsible for equipping and managing the Mechanical Engineering laboratories
  • Supervise the Mechanical Engineering related undergraduate research projects

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields
  • Five years of teaching experience in Mechanical Engineering at the college level
  • Industrial background, ABET accreditation and CDIO experience preferred
  • Grant application experience required

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields
  • Five years of teaching experience in Mechanical Engineering at the college level
