Job Description

Components Research delivers innovative device technologies and architectures to enable Intel's roadmap. Memory R+D team is looking for Novel Memory Research Engineers for inventing and demonstrating game-changing dense memory options, including new materials, new device structures, new architecture and new process integration schemes for Intel product differentiation.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Initiate new research projects
  • Test-chip layout and electrical characterization of memory devices
  • Successful demonstration of viable technology meeting performance, reliability and yield metric
  • New inventions and patent filing
  • Establishing value proposition and competitive analysis vs. industry trends
  • Presenting to conferences occasionally
  • Partnering with design, process integration and process module experts
  • Work with various business units


The successful candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:

  • Demonstrated out-of-the-box innovations, creative thinking and project vision
  • Understanding of memory device operation and memory product requirements
  • Highly motivated team player

This is an entry level position and compensation will be given accordingly.


You must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Requirements:

The candidate must possess a PhD. degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields of study.


2+ years of experience in below areas:

  • Memory R+D
  • Semiconductor device physics
  • Electrical characterization of memory devices
  • Publications in leading journals or conferences
  • Memory array operation

Preferred Requirements:

  • Memory fabrication process
  • CMOS process technology
  • Memory-in-logic or neuromorphic memory
  • Process variations impact on device operation
