Job Description:

This role is part of the Raytheon Missiles and Defense Requirements and Capabilities organization located in Colorado Springs, CO and reports to the NORTHCOM, STRATCOM and Americas Global Customer Account Executive. The Director is the executive with primary responsibility for driving company growth in NORAD-NORTHCOM by providing exceptional customer relationships and knowledge, identifying and qualifying business opportunities, guiding strategies and supporting pursuits, improving competitiveness, being a catalyst for business synergies, and leading cross-company business development initiatives to success. The Director NORAD-NORTHCOM is responsible for leading partnerships with Raytheons business units and Mission Areas to achieve bookings plan, understand government policy and assess capability gaps.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for identifying, developing, and winning new NORAD-NORTHCOM business including maritime, air, space cyber and land defense capabilities.
  • Identifying pursuits and engaging on capture and proposal activities, leading gate and bid reviews, and developing capture/win strategies; the position requires a close working relationship with Raytheons business leaders and senior business development leaders across the enterprise.
  • Focus on the customer: understand strategic environment, threats, problems, priorities, limitations and requirements. Understand how the customer perceives capability and capacity gaps. Seek opportunities to help develop requirements for NORAD-NORTHCOM and assist Raytheon Businesses to do so with NORAD-NORTHCOM associated Allies and other Combatant Commands (STRATCOM, INDO-PACOM and EUCOM). Responsible for building trusted relationships and orchestrating the customer engagement plan and integrated messaging. Seek opportunities to explain and promote Raytheon solutions.
  • Provide the vision, leadership and collaboration required across Raytheon entities to coalesce their capabilities into solutions that align with the needs as identified in the National Defense Strategy (NDS).
  • Thought leader responsible for relationship management within NORAD-NORTHCOM community and for identifying, developing, and winning new business.
  • Understand NORAD-NORTHCOM trends with respect to sensing, warning and left-of-launch capabilities, unmanned, hypersonic, cruise missile, ballistic missile and directed energy warning and response capabilities, their associated kill-chains and complementary programs.
  • Present assessments to Raytheon senior leadership, reflecting knowledge of DoD acquisition rules, customer needs, regulations, trends, budgets, legislation, politics and competitive intelligence.
  • Sustain an ethical and professional environment, including a strong foundation for diversity and inclusion
  • Possess the highest standards of leadership and integrity; ethical standards beyond reproach

This position requires a current, active U.S. Security Clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Current US Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret
  • 14 years+ experience within the government or defense industry
  • Thought-leader in the NORAD-NORTHCOM, homeland and missile defense communities.
  • Direct knowledge of and experience with NORAD-NORTHCOM and its component commands, and US Allies NORAD-NORTHCOM area of operations.
  • Experience working with Government Relations/Legislative Liaison
  • Demonstrated leadership at senior levels in the military community
  • Strategic perspective to identify potential Raytheon Technologies growth opportunities
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning and the ability to analyze and evaluate missions, requirements, technologies and capabilities.
  • Bachelors Degree; preferably in Engineering, business or other related field

Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate directly and effectively with key decision makers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced degree in business or relevant technical field preferred
  • 16 years of experience in progressively more responsible leadership positions
  • Top Secret DoD Security Clearance with ability to obtain a SCI strongly desired
  • Proven ability to develop effective professional relationships through personal influence - proactive, responsive, consistent and persistent
  • Understands customer requirements and mission needs with a focus on collaboration; identifies opportunities for strategic alliances, opening new opportunities and market segments
  • Familiarity with Raytheon businesses, policies, and practices
