As a software engineer in the Neuromorphic Computing Lab, you will help create the next generation software kit, enabling engineers and researchers to explore and build novel, dynamic, event-driven and spiking neuromorphic algorithms for the next generation of AI. You will play a critical role in the design, development, and support of our neuromorphic compilers, runtime libraries, and execution engines. You will add your programming expertise and commercial and/or open source software development experience to help us build the highest quality software development kit and experience for our customers.

We are looking for an experienced, team-oriented software engineer who understands and actively utilizes DevOps, CI/CD, SOLID, TDD, and Agile Methodologies in their daily work. The ideal candidate enjoys working with others to solve difficult programming problems with an eye toward execution and increased customer value. The ideal candidate has a growth mindset and is as interested in learning from others, as teaching or mentoring them.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and internship experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering

  • 6+ years of experience in object-oriented software development and debug (preferable in the commercial space and/or open-source and software development kits/APIs development)

  • 6+ years of experience with at least two of these languages: Python, C, C++

  • 4+ years of experience utilizing Agile design and development methodologies

  • 2+ years of experience with Tensorflow or PyTorch

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ months experience with PyNN, Brian or any neuromorphic/spiking frameworks

  • 6+ months experience working on Linux

  • 6+ months experience using Git/GitHub
