We are currently seeking a Multi-Disciplinary Sensors and Systems Analyst to join MITRE's Cross-cutting Urgent Innovation Cell (CUIC) team of analysts, scientists, innovators, and engineers, focusing on delivering solutions that make a difference. CUIC is bringing mission analysis, experimentation, research, and prototyping together in a unique environment that is structured to optimize innovation, efficiency, and results. To foster a culture of innovation, CUIC relies on initiative and enthusiasm from individual staff members who work proactively together towards common goals. 

A Multi-Disciplinary Sensors and Systems Analyst with technical breadth and system sense is needed to develop analysis tools using their math, physics, and programming skills, and then use those tools to work with more senior staff to generate and assess results and extract key lessons learned. Successful candidate(s) will learn new techniques and approaches on-the-job working with other team members.


  • Possess a bachelors degree with a 3.5 minimum GPA in physics, applied mathematics, aerospace or mechanical engineering or related discipline and a strong technical background.
  • Possess a desire to do cross-disciplinary work assessing concepts for novel national security systems and sensors in operational contexts.
  • Experience with developing physics-based modeling and simulation tools and applying those tools to address research questions.
  • Experience with understanding simulation results, identifying areas for additional focus, and extracting critical lessons learned is required.
  • Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance which will require US citizenship.


  • Possess an active DoD secret clearance
  • Familiarity with one or more of RF or EO/IR physics, sensor systems, signal processing, orbital mechanics, or aerodynamic systems
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, Mathematica, AFSIM, Python, or Analytica.
