Challenge your skills in software design with the latest in power electronics technology. The Senior/Lead Power Electronics Software Engineer will utilize knowledge of Electronics Embedded software design to lead development of Variable Speed Drive electronics and solve dramatic motor drive challenges.


  • Design embedded software for Variable Speed Drives.
  • Assist in developing product specifications, architecture, schedules, designs (BOM, schematic, layout, design documents, FMEA), safety agency certification and product release.
  • Assist in developing and documenting Test Procedures and standards for engineering.
  • Coordinate and assist in performance and qualification testing of variable speed drives.
  • Provide technical support to customers as needed.
  • Coordinate and assist in development and review of production line test specifications.
  • Assist and coordinate in-house and contract engineering resources to meet project schedule and objectives.
  • Coordinate hardware and documentation to certification labs to obtain product and agency safety approval.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related major plus five (5) years of engineering experience with emphasis on embedded software design and development.
  • Demonstrated in-depth technical knowledge of electronics hardware and embedded software design including microcontrollers, digital and analog circuits on several platforms.
  • Some experience in PCB board layout design and electronics assembly manufacturing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate with multiple functional groups in an NPD environment.


  • Preferred seven to ten (7-10) years of electronics design experience within an industrial company with emphasis on leading embedded software design and development.
  • Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or related field in Electronics design.
  • Experienced in working with safety agencies such as UL/VDE.
  • Experienced in EMI/EMC mitigation techniques.
  • Strong technical project management competencies and problem solving skills.
  • Skilled in organizing, prioritizing and coordinating highly effective working relationships with all levels of personnel within and outside of the organization.
  • Experience working with MATLAB, schematic capture, PCB layout and simulation tools.
  • Experience with automotive or off-road electronics.
