The System of Systems Modeling and Architecture Directorate performs customer focused operational analysis and simulation activities within Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD). Supporting this mission are teams driving flexible integration solutions crossing all product areas (sensors, effectors, command and control, logistics and operations), developing tools and methods to evaluate system level analysis and visualization based on customer requirements. We are looking for a Section Manager in the Mission, Modeling, and Analysis Department. This Departments objective is to produce analysis material to support, drive, and enable key business captures, current programs, special projects, and wide-ranging business opportunities. This position is located in Tucson, Arizona. Section Managers provide guidance, leadership and management to a team of approximately 10 Engineers. The candidate will act as a key leader and mentor in the department. They will bring to the position leadership, mentoring and influence skills, and foster teamwork and interdependent execution. The Section Manager will participate in talent acquisition, goal setting, performance development, and appraisal. The successful candidate will ensure that each direct report has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and advancement. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting a major program task within the department, in either a leadership or key individual contributor role.

U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the field of engineering or related technical discipline, with documented experience in the following;
    • A functional, or program leader, role within a Modeling & Analysis department
    • Participating and supporting analyses and studies of system and/or of kill chain performance
    • Evaluating new concepts of operation and developing new technology use cases
    • Applying principles such as CONOPS, system tradeoff analysis, threat definitions, and/or system of system assessments
    • Presenting technical and analytical information to customers/clients
  • U.S. citizenship is required
Desired Skills:
  • High performance weapon simulation use or creation
  • Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Familiarity with computer communication through ports, sockets, and UDP/TCP
  • Experience with Python Matplotlib and Seaborn packages
  • SIMDIS visualization creation (user and/or programmer)
  • Experience as a Control Account Manager
  • Earned Value Management System Certification
  • Strong mentoring skills, both technically and professionally
  • Competency with Microsoft Office tool suite including Project
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with subordinates, customers, and other internal organizations
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with missile launch envelope generation software
  • Engineering domain experience in EO/IR/RF sensor, kinetic weapon, and/or electronic warfare systems
  • Existing TS/SCI security clearance
Required Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Operations Research or related discipline.

This position can be a Salary Grade G10 or Salary Grade G11 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
