Intel's Information Technology IT group designs deploys and supports the information technology architecture and hardware and/or software applications for Intel. This includes the LAN WAN telephony data centers, client PCs, Backup and Restore, and Enterprise Applications.

The Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) team on the New Mexico site provides 24 hour maintenance support to the product delivery systems within clean room environment. As part of IT, F11x AMHS Automation supports the factory on the delivery and storage of Wafers across the site, works 24 x 7 on Compressed Work Week supported by the Shift 1 engineering team, we are the eyes and ears of the factory. This team is a key player in the AMHS Hub which has eight teams across the Virtual Factory often setting future direction for the HUB.

AMHS HUB has implemented standardization to our operations across the HUB to ensure Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) and Best Known Methods (BKMs) enabling best in class service to our customers. We continue to challenge and innovate new ways to improve this service year on year.

As an Automation Mechanical Engineer in the New Mexico Automated Material Handling Systems Team, you would be required to research, design, and develop mechanical and electromechanical devices or systems. The successful candidate will serve as site expert for a designated set of automation hardware including representing integrated needs in cross functional and cross site teams. You can also expect to interact with a broad array of internal customers comprised of engineers from process equipment and product groups. High attention to detail will be expected to prevent unintended changes or process variations. As issues arise you will be required to troubleshoot and provide manufacturing support including off hours on a rotational on call assignment basis.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Develop system concepts, conduct design previews perform system acceptance and resolve design and implementation issues.
  • Respond to customer client requests or events as they occur.
  • Apply advanced troubleshooting to automation system problems and drive continuous improvement efforts to meet automation systems health goals as well as emerging capability needs.
  • Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgement, and experience.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or any other related field and 3+ years of related experience
  • 2+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience (DFM, DOE, FMEA, Mechanical Design, Product Lifecycle, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the following:

  • Project Management Principles, Systems, and/or relevant certifications
  • AMHS (Automated Materials Handling Systems) Hardware and Controls
  • Factory Business acumen demonstrated through working successfully with customers
  • Statistical Analysis, with experience in gauge study analytics
  • Both theoretical and practical aspects of Project Management and experience in project management techniques/tools
  • Microsoft Project
  • System Proficiency with data analytical/statistical tools such as: JMP, Excel/Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, etc.
  • Project Management Principles, Systems, and/or relevant certifications
