The Acoustics - Microphone Engineering team contributes to microphone hardware design, validation, and fixing to minimize distracting audible noises and optimize their sound quality. We are a mixed team of acoustics, mechanics, electronics, and physics experts, accomplished listeners, and creative problem solvers. We work daily with multi-functional teams on innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. We are searching for a Microphone Packaging Engineer to join our team of dedicated and passionate engineers

Key Qualifications

  • You will excel in the role of Packaging Engineer if you: have considerable knowledge of MEMS microphone packaging technology and manufacturing, with 15+ years of experience in the MEMS microphone packaging field, understand packaging-enabled mitigations for various microphone coexistence phenomena, have PCB layout skills, have experience designing experiments and leading root cause investigation, and you demonstrated excellence in driving vendors to deliver technical excellence. You have a history of developing novel MEMS packaging intellectual property, and knowledge of MEMS design

Description

A Packaging Engineer on the Microphone Engineering team will: devise novel package architectures, drive development roadmaps of suppliers for substrates, lids, substrate materials, adhesives, interconnects, and environmental protections; define DOEs to develop process technology to support the technology roadmap; author DFMEAs to assess novel packaging architectures; define test plans and specifications; layout package concepts and ensure DFM; analyze validation data sets and communicating results to both technical and non-technical team members; use your findings from DOEs and testing to discover the root cause of coexistence issues for microphones in system; occasionally travel to our partner facilities overseas

Education & Experience

Most of our engineers have advanced degrees in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field, but if you've followed a different path to expertise in acoustics, electronics, MEMS, semiconductor manufacturing, that's fine too
