The System Integration and Test Directorate (SI&T) is responsible for integration, test and validation activities for RMD programs. SI&T employees provide the expertise to ensure customer success through the development and execution of innovative and comprehensive test, verification, and validation strategies, processes, tools and techniques. SI&T employees are involved in all aspects of test including: design-for-test, integration, subsystem and component level testing, and sell-off of RMDs most sophisticated systems and technologies. Our System Engineers collaborate with other RMD Engineering disciplines from development of initial system concepts to product sell-off. We integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and test system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in support of final selloff to the customer.

Job Summary:
An opportunity currently exists, within SI&T in St. Petersburg, FL, for a Systems Engineering Front Line Leader to manage, develop, support and lead a team of Systems Engineers. The team works together on IV&V Data Analysis, integration, verification, validation, and sell off for numerous defense programs with a primary focus on Early Warning Radars and Command and Control Systems (EWRC2). The manager (Section Leader) role is performed in parallel with other programmatic tasks as a program lead or individual contributor.

You will act as an enthusiastic leader and mentor in the department committed to employing your leadership, presence and influence skills, and fostering team work. You will participate in goal setting, mid-year and year-end Performance Reviews, interviewing new candidates, and providing recommendations for promotion and recognition of section members.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Supervises, develops, supports and leads a team of 15 to 20 engineers
  • Establishes meaningful and measurable goals and communicates effectively with team to ensure alignment with the department and our company
  • Conducts formal and informal performance reviews and career development discussions
  • Leads by example, adheres to and ensures alignment with our Values and Behaviors and creates an inclusive environment
  • Responsible for and committed to the sustainment, assessment and development of section members
  • Ensure section members adhere to Raytheon policy, vision, values and goals
  • Performance development including collecting, supporting and providing performance feedback to section members
  • Career and job assignment mentoring
  • Collaborates with multi-faceted teams in the operation, testing and troubleshooting of systems
  • Plans and executes independently software/systems integration plans and schedules
  • Prepares presentations and written communication for various stakeholders on program, team and internal customers
  • Interact with Program Managers, Cross Product Team Leads, Directorate Leads, as well as other functional management to drive results to achieve program and business objectives. Supports SI&T program hiring goals as well as leads the onboarding of new section personnel
  • You will have a technical role on at least one program in addition to performing the day-to-day leadership section members, with the primary responsibility of ensuring that each employee has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and advancement.

    Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain interim within 30 days from date of hire
  • BS or MS degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related engineering/science disciplines
  • Minimum ten (10)+ years of prior relevant/overall engineering experience
  • Experience in the operation, test and troubleshooting of complex military systems
  • Experience and knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework
  • Experience with software/systems integration planning and execution
  • Proven skills in leadership and management
  • Experience leading teams and effectively interacting with subordinates, customers, and other large organizations

    An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience as follows: Masters is equal to 2 years of experience or a Ph.D. is equal to 4 years of experience.

    Qualifications We Value:
  • Prior experience in a functional or leadership role
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills for meeting with internal and external customers
  • Experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management System or similar financial performance tracking system)
  • Knowledge with the Performance Development Process
  • EVMS Certified Level II
  • Certified Six Sigma Specialist
  • Experience with our Proposal Capture Process (development of compliant Basis of Estimates, and White Sheet Development)
  • Experience with the Estimate at Complete (EAC) process and Engineering Labor Forecasting (ELF) System
  • Knowledge with business and program improvements through process improvement methodologies
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with teams
  • Experience using DOORS requirements management tool for developing and linking requirements to test procedures
  • Development of integration, verification, and validation planning documentation of integration and test plans, procedures, reports, status reports, and other related documentation
  • Experience and interest in working with lab equipment and measurements
  • Experience with MATLAB
