Job Summary:
The Raytheon Missile Defense (RMD) Global Supply Chain organization is looking for a Logistics Warehouse Value Stream Manager (VSM) to take on a high visibility, centralized functional organization. As a Logistics Warehouse Value Stream Manager (VSM), youll be an integral part of the logistics operations at our site in Louisville, KY.
The Logistics Warehouse Value Stream Manager (VSM) will perform a variety of technical and business tasks in support of the Property and Production warehouse operations. The VSM will coordinate standard production meetings, generation and measurement of logistics performance and status, and maintaining or improving logistics service level commitments. In this role youll support a variety of logistics functions focused on dock-to-stock operations including receiving, warehousing, and internal material movements for both onsite warehouse management and a Third Party Logistics facility. As a part of your role, youll use a number of systems, tools, and forms on a daily basis, and will also provide frequent email and phone support. This role will be a blend of tactical support combined with strategic initiatives to drive improvement initiatives across the value chain.

Responsibilities To Anticipate:
As a Logistics Manager, you will directly manage a team of logistics support staff across multiple functions and will be key integration point with logistics front line supervisors. In this leadership role youre accountable for results; safety, security, compliance, mission assurance, key performance indicators, business system data integrity and financial results to budget. In addition to the above, responsibilities include workforce planning and forecasting, employee hiring and training, time and attendance tracking, area layout and flow management.
Youll manage a team to ensure efficiency of receiving dock operations; storage; inventory accuracy of all materials stored within the warehouse, and accuracy of material distribution including kits being delivered to the manufacturing value streams. Your team will be responsible for efficient material movements ensuring customer service level cycle time and through-put requirements are met. Youll actively establish, lead and participate in continuous improvement projects within RMD, as well as, at the enterprise level.
This role requires successful daily interaction with cross functional teams, Third Party Logistics (3PL) partners, programs and business units to maintain and meet organizational goals and objectives. These groups include: planning, production control, operations, quality, manufacturing/test/design engineering, maintenance, finance and the program management office.
In addition to the above, your daily responsibilities listed below are necessary in order to meet business costs and schedule requirements.
  • Plans, forecasts, coordinates, and communicates the workload for the warehouse team members daily in order to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Manage and optimize Logistics team of support staff responsible for all aspects of dock-to-stock material flow.
  • Achieving high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, and distribution of materials.
  • Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employees performance.
  • Collaboration with leaders across the enterprise to formulate material, production, and logistics plans and requirements, and identify and meet organizational goals and objectives.
  • Interacting with front line leaders and their teams to ensure accuracy and velocity of material positons.
  • Ensure the execution and continuous improvement of standard processes, such as replenishment systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration, warehouse operations, and related functions.
  • Capture and record team performance through metrics.
  • Activity establish, lead, and participate in continuous improvement projects within RMD.
  • Area layout and material flow optimization
  • Capital identification and control of overhead expenses.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulations and internal audit protocols.
  • Responsible for training, motivation, and monitoring of warehouse and receiving team members.

Qualifications you Must Have:
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Management, Supply Chain or similar is required
  • 8+ years Logistics/Supply chain experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with logistics, warehousing, and receiving operations.
  • 3-5 years Team management or Leadership experience in a Logistics role.
  • Strong MRP/ERP, Warehouse Management (WM), Logistics execution skills such as SAP or equivalent system.
  • Demonstrated effective team development and building.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen, and demonstrate problem solving skill set.
  • Strong People Management Skills- Goal setting, delegation, coaching, motivating, and conflict management.
  • Demonstrated skills in influence and presence with business leadership.
Qualifications We Value:
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing government furnished material.
  • Demonstrated experience in setting up a Central Distribution Center (CDC) or Third Party Logistics (3PL) facility.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully leading a CDC/3PL facility.
  • 5+ years in leading an Inventory Control process/team.
  • 5+ years leading a CDC/3PL facility, preferable in D.O.D. environment.
  • Warehouse Management Certification
  • 5+ years of experience interfacing with government auditors/customers.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and business acumen.
  • 5+ years of logistics experience in the aerospace/defense industry.
  • Self-Starter who requires minimal supervision, as well as the ability to manage priorities.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, Power Point)
  • Military experience in logistics support.
