Metadata is at the heart of Apple Media Products (AMP), powering key aspects of the customer experience including UI, Search, and Siri. Video Operations is responsible for ensuring world-class quality and discoverability of AMP metadata. We're looking for a self-motivated, resourceful project manager with a real passion for media metadata to take the TV App and Universal Search features to the next level. As part of the AMP Video Ops Metadata Production Team, you will be responsible for building scalable processes, utilizing resources with maximum efficiency, and implementing technical and tactical solutions to boost our operational effectiveness. Key Qualifications

  • 5 to 8+ years of experience in the digital media or technology industry
  • 3+ years experience overseeing temporary agency workers (contractors), including but not limited to sourcing, training, delegating assignments and ensuring completion, while respecting co-employment laws
  • Understanding or experience working within a vendor managed service and or a deliverables-based model is a plus
  • Project and/or program management experience working with a services product in the growth phase, with rapidly changing requirements
  • Experience working with global cross-functional teams supporting key stakeholders such as Engineering, Product, and Business
  • Expert-level understanding of a data pipeline, from ingestion, integration to consumption, as well as data management and visualization tools
  • Proven track record of identifying, troubleshooting, scoping and diagnosing data issues in order to resolve or escalate to engineering, data analytics, solutions, or other appropriate cross-functional teams
  • Possess a deep understanding of complex, large-scale media content management systems (CMS), and how metadata interplays and impacts the end-user experience
  • Capacity to analyze a data catalog's health and conduct quality assessment projects in accordance with good data hygiene practices
  • Phenomenal interpersonal communication skills with the ability to facilitate productive discussions, build consensus within teams and key partners
  • Solid ability to operate autonomously without on-site management support
  • Extraordinary attention to detail while running multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment, ability to be decisive, and willing to lead the hard calls
  • Ability to read XML, Tableau experience, and Python/SQL familiarity is a plus
  • A real passion for TV, Movies and other video content
  • Additional Requirements:
  • May need to work, at times, outside of standard business hours
  • May need to provide on-call support during off-hours
  • May need to travel for work

Description

The AMP Video Operations Metadata Production Team provides 24/7/365 operational support for the TV app's TV+, Channels and Federated Partner's Movie & TV art & metadata. You will acquire an expert-level understanding of our data pipeline, from ingestion, integration to consumption, as well as our content management systems and tools. Utilize a contingent workforce across multiple geographic locations; fielding questions, reporting issues, and establishing and documenting standards & guidelines. Manage the on-site and remote vendor and supplier relationships of the operation, ensuring services are rendered, KPIs are met, and quality standards are upheld. Enhance the current program and build new infrastructure to support future projects and metadata types that will drive key elements of the experience such as UI, Search, and Siri. Collaborate with counterparts located in California, Europe, and APAC to ensure fidelity and quality of work that is maintained across multiple sites, while working with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Product, and Business to ensure we deliver superior results on defined business initiatives. Analyze prospective seed and enrichment data providers' feeds; assessing the data quality to report findings and advisement in order to validate, ingest, and integrate into our systems, while taking into consideration how the data would impact our systems' overall catalog health and the customer experience. Develop reporting and insights as well as quality metrics to regularly report on status. Proactively and frequently communicate operational status back to headquarters and key stakeholders. Identify and seek opportunities for continual process improvements, that produce quantifiable operational efficiency gains and engineering offsets. Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience
