The Leadership Development Program (LDP) at RTX is a cross functional, fast-tracked leadership program focused on early career talent. The program incorporates three in-person, enterprise cross-functional sessions held over a two year period.

Participants will be given challenging assignments that will develop functional skills. Participants may have the opportunity to travel throughout the country to attend training sessions that provide not only contracts-specific training but also training across different functions to develop leadership and business acumen.

Job Description:
The Rotational Engineering Leadership Development Program (RELDP) is an early career rotational program for top engineering students that cycles engineers through two 12-month rotations across our enterprise. The program allows accelerated development opportunities with the goal of growing world class leaders.

Our commitment to you is to provide front-line, hands-on, business-critical assignments designed to stretch your capabilities and enhance your learning.

In addition to the unique experiences gained through rotation assignments, participants will receive high-caliber training, mentoring and guidance from leading RTX executives, engineering leaders, technical fellows, and subject matter experts as well as current participants and alumni.

The program is sponsored by the Vice President, Technology & Global Engineering.

The first assignment associated with this job requisition is with The Electrical Products Team (EPT) organization within our Missiles & Defense (RMD) business unit. RMD is a technology and innovation leader specializing in defense, security and civil markets where youll be part of a global team working together to solve some of the most demanding challenges on the planet. We are the world's largest developer, producer and integrator of weapon systems. In fact, we've produced over one million missiles in our history. Military forces in more than 50 countries look to us for a high-quality product portfolio that includes missiles, smart munitions, projectiles, kinetic kill vehicles and directed energy weapons.

The Electrical Products Team (EPT) is responsible for the guidance, navigation, signal processing, target detection and tracking system functions of the electrical subsystems used in our products. Job responsibilities of this role vary, but include activities such as; troubleshooting electronics in a lab or production environment, performing system and circuit level analysis, supporting failure investigations, maintaining and creating documentation, and interacting with multi-discipline groups including suppliers.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Selection for the Rotational Engineering Leadership Development Program will be based on the following minimum criteria:

Required Education:
  • Graduating with a Masters Degree or PhD in engineering or hard science in the current academic year (September 2020 - June 2021)
  • A 3.5 GPA or higher in graduate studies; a 3.2 GPA or higher in undergraduate studies
Required Skills:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed signal circuit design and analysis.
  • Direct experience with electrical subsystems or circuit card assembly, electrical test, and / or standard laboratory test equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronics, critical thinking and/or Root-Cause Corrective Action investigations.
  • Willingness to geographically relocate for all rotational assignments during a two-year period and flexibility to travel/live anywhere in the US and possibly abroad.
  • Strong technical skills with fluency in one or more engineering disciplines.
  • Energetic and results-driven, thriving in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • One or more technical publications or conference presentations are a plus.
  • Foreign language proficiency is a plus (not required).
