Lockheed Martin is seeking a Mechanical / Structures Stress Engineer to join our creative team of engineers in Dallas Texas. The candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in some of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control’s highly innovative and ingenious solutions to complex technical problems facing the aerospace industry. This exciting work will include performing research, design, analysis, evaluation, and testing in support of various program areas. This specific position is related to Mechanical / Structures Stress analysis for development and production of new aerospace products and technologies

The candidate will be responsible for performing Mechanical Structural (Stress and possibly Dynamics) analysis of structural subsystems and/or components on one or more programs. Tasks include performing preliminary and detailed structural analysis on component and subassemblies using standardized processes and tools.

The candidate will also be participating in the structural analysis and design of various missile system assemblies and launchers, and derive structural design requirements. Candidate will perform structural analysis using standardized analysis software tools and coordinate requirements and design solutions with program personnel. Analysis will be performed on primarily metallic structural materials. The candidate will provide technical documentation and input to data packages to support peer and customer reviews

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth

Basic Qualifications
-Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance
-Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other related field
-Candidate must have at least 2 years of professional experience (aerospace industry preferred)
-Experience with structural analysis of either an assembly systems, subsystems, or components.
-Experience performing analysis of hardware made from structural materials used in the aerospace industry, especially metals
-Experience with core structural software (Nastran and / or Abaqus)
-Experience with core or second tier pre and post processing tools (Ansa, Meta, Hypermesh, Patran, FEMAP, etc.)
-Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
-Excellent writing and verbal communication skills for supporting the generation of structural analysis plans, and structural analysis reports are necessary.
-Candidate must be capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment, and working in an inclusive, team environment.
-Considered a developing talent, and still a learner
-Candidate must have strong analytical and organizational skills
-Candidate must have the ability to travel

Desired skills
-MS degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
-Experience with structural testing of either structural assemblies, sub-assemblies or components
-Experience with aerospace manufacturing methods and addressing non-conformances (MRB).
-Exposure or experience with dynamic analysis of assembly systems, subsystems, or components.
-Experience with fatigue and damage tolerance analysis
-Experience performing structural and/or dynamics analysis using classical methods.
-Experience with CAD modeling software (PTC CREO)
-Experience with Matlab or MathCAD
-Proven leadership with demonstrated interpersonal skills.
-Experience developing and analyzing structures for strength and stability
-Considered an emerging authority
