Research, develop and design Mechanical Support Equipment used for Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Trident II motor/missile transportation, component handling and checkout. Prepare design requirement, specification control and detailed design documentation. Coordinate subcontract design and hardware acquisitions. Investigate and resolve fabrication problems at Lockheed Martin and subcontractor facilities. Investigate and analyze field-related problems remotely and at operational FBM sites. Perform engineering document change and maintenance in accordance with established engineering procedures

*Ability to obtain Secret Clearance required for this role
*This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Experience in the development, design, manufacture and integration of mechanical structures or ground handling equipment conforming to current industrial standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS

Proficient with CAD modeling, drafting, Bills of Material and product data management

Proven understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms and materials

Experience with manufacturing processes and documentation including machining, fabrication and assembly

Demonstrated knowledge of other disciplines including stress, dynamics, thermal analysis, production, electronics, systems engineering, etc

Desired skills
Hands-on hardware experience

Experience working with procurement, suppliers, manufacturing and integration organizations

Experience with hardware design, manufacture, test
and integration

Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 including GD&T
(geometric tolerancing)
- Working knowledge of industry standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA and AWS
- Technical leadership experience
- Demonstrated strong problem solving skills
- Experience with major technical design reviews
- Experience in a customer interfacing role
- Proficient with Creo and EPDM
- Experience using CAD model as record of authority
(Data Set Rating 4 and/or 6)
- Familiarity with Lockheed Martin specifications/tools/procedures
- Experience with test methods, planning and execution
- Additive manufacturing experience
- Demonstrated commitment to development and
deployment of productivity improvements and leveraging new technologies
- Excellent communication (written/verbal), technical writing, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary product development teams
- Able to work overtime
- Active Secret security clearance
