The mechanical engineer will support the LM2100 Bus COE Propulsion Team in the design, analysis, and integration of Electric Propulsion (EP) products as part of the evolution of the propulsion product line. In this capacity, the engineer will work with various potential and current EP product suppliers, generate requirements documents, support the development, qualification and integration of these products into various spacecraft designs. Additionally, the engineer will perform analyses associated with other proposal pursuits for other LM platform designs. The engineer will collaborate with team members for the integration of EP products into the Bus, including design and packaging of components, mass and electrical properties, and software control. The ideal candidate will be able to EP products (current and future) from various sources, develop and execute analysis models with different tools, and present and articulate their analysis written and verbally to different internal and external customers. The candidate is required to be thorough, with good attention to detail and a solid understanding of documentation methods and requirements

Basic Qualifications
Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering BS or MS.

Experience with the analytical techniques used to evaluate propulsion system designs along with analytical tools used to work anomalies to closure.

Demonstrated capability to independently plan, synthesize, evaluate and document system-level architecture studies. Experience in managing projects/programs to meet customer requirements while meeting program objectives.

Ability to work with domestic/foreign supplier(s) in the development and qualification of high power EP.

Understanding of high power electronics used for the control of the Electrical Propulsion (EP) thrusters

Desired skills

Experience with the analytical techniques used to evaluate propulsion system designs along with analytical tools used to work anomalies to closure. Demonstrated ability to lead a team of engineers with the integration of EP onto complex satellites. Experience in managing projects/programs to meet customer requirements while meeting program objectives. Ability to work with domestic/foreign supplier(s) in the development and qualification of high power EP. Understanding of high power electronics used for the control of the EP thrusters
