Job Summary:

This is a third shift position which includes a 12% added pay differential.

Take your career to the next step as a Manufacturing Engineering Shift Lead. The Shift Lead will report to the Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Operations Engineering Section Manager, part of the RMD Operations Engineering team, and will closely collaborate with Operations for execution of CCA manufacturing operations in Andover, MA. The position will be located in Andover, MA.

Key responsibilities include providing engineering support for seven fully automated Surface Mount Technology (SMT) assembly lines on 3rd shift, generation and maintenance of all manufacturing equipment processes, tooling development, capital equipment, project development, and innovation. The position requires planning and scheduling of strategic projects, driving producibility into product designs, and managing tactical support to the production floor. There will be a strong emphasis on leading the engineering support team in root cause and corrective action of build issues, driving continuous improvement projects, and interfacing with the product value streams. A record of accomplishment in product/process execution, manufacturing compliance, and successful management of cost, schedule and quality is required.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Lead and set priorities for a manufacturing engineering team between 5-15 people in support of the manufacturing and production environment
  • Manage continuous improvement projects, develop, and control schedules, budgets, risks, and opportunities
  • Manage support of all surface mount technology equipment and processes
  • Lead capital planning, proposal inputs, development of nonrecurring engineering plans, producibility analysis, program planning, capability and capacity analysis
  • Responsible for employee development, mentoring, training, performance reviews, audits, salary and compensation planning, manpower planning, ranking and staffing
  • Responsible as a focal point for interaction with product value stream teams, design community, and new program innovation
  • Recruit and hire qualified New College Hire (NCH) and professional engineers to support program growth and manage attrition
    An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for 2 additional years of experience.

    Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of 5+ years of supporting manufacturing and/or test operations for a M3
  • Experience leading technical professionals in a manufacturing environment
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Qualifications We Value:
  • Detailed working knowledge of CMES, VBS, PRISM and PDM
  • Raytheon Technical Data Package / Manufacturing Data Package Certified
  • Creating detailed RCCA Technical Analysis
  • Solid mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance per ASME Y14.5
  • Attained Six Sigma Expert or Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Demonstrated record of developing engineering talent and managing the human resources performance development process
  • Experience with Raytheon financial processes
  • Raytheon Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills
  • Experience with advanced manufacturing planning including process development, and producibility / manufacturability analysis
  • Demonstration of driving continuous improvement, affordability projects and capital projects in a manufacturing/production environment
