Job Summary:

Take your career to the next step as a Manufacturing Engineering Section Manager. The Section Manager will report to the East Execution Operations Engineering Department Manager, part of the RMD Operations Engineering Directorate, and will closely partner with Operations for execution of manufacturing operations in Andover, MA. The position will be located in Andover, MA.

Key responsibilities include the generation and maintenance of all manufacturing processes, manufacturing data packages (MDPs), tooling development, capital equipment project development and innovation. The position requires planning and scheduling strategic projects, driving producibility into product designs and managing tactical support to the production floor. There will be a strong emphasis on leading the engineering support team in troubleshooting manufacturing and/or test issues, driving continuous improvement projects and interfacing with the integrated product design teams. A record of accomplishment in product/process execution, manufacturing compliance, and successful management of cost, schedule and quality is required.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Lead and set priorities for a manufacturing and/or test engineering team between 5-10 people in support of the manufacturing and production environment
  • Manage continuous improvement projects, develop and control schedules, budgets, risks, and opportunities
  • Lead capital planning, proposal inputs, development of nonrecurring engineering plans, producibility analysis, program planning, capability and capacity analysis
  • Responsible for employee development, mentoring, training, performance reviews, audits, salary and compensation planning, manpower planning, ranking and staffing
  • Responsible as a focal point for interaction with program teams, design community and supplier obsolescence and new program innovation
  • Responsible for support of IPT program reviews, briefings, program gate reviews and all aspects of financial management
  • Recruit and hire qualified New College Hire (NCH) and professional engineers to support program growth and manage attrition

This position can be a M3 (Manufacturing Manager I) or a M4 (Manufacturing Manager II), based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for 2 additional years of experience.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or other technical degree
  • Minimum of 5+ years of supporting manufacturing and/or test operations for a M3
  • Minimum of 8+ years of supporting manufacturing and/or test operations for a M4
  • Experience leading technical professionals in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills
  • Experience with advanced manufacturing and/or test planning including process development, product development, and producibility / manufacturability analysis
  • Demonstration of driving continuous improvement, affordability projects and capital projects in a manufacturing/production environment
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:
  • Detailed working knowledge of CMES, VBS, PRISM and PDM
  • Raytheon Technical Data Package / Manufacturing Data Package Certified
  • Creating detailed RCCA Technical Analysis
  • Solid mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance per ASME Y14.5
  • Attained Six Sigma Expert or Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Demonstrated record of developing engineering talent and managing the human resources performance development process
  • Experience with Raytheon financial processes
  • Raytheon Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification
