Job Description
The Mechanical Product Technology (MPT) leads in mechanical hardware design, development and production of radar, sonar, torpedo and combat system equipment. The MPT uses state-of-the-art tools, processes technology and Raytheon Six Sigma principles.

The Rapid Hardware Solutions (RHS) department of MPT is chartered to deliver agile services. We bridge across Operations and Engineering, providing solutions through the execution of quick-turn design, procurement, manufacturing and environmental test services.

RHS is skilled in special test equipment, program trainers, environmental test and cooling systems mechanical design. We utilize Pro/Engineer and Common Product Data Management (PDM) with tailored release processes for maximum cross-use and flexibility.
RHS executes prototyping and high-mix/low-rate procurement and fabrication activities with a focus on in-house electro-mechanical packaging, support equipment and liquid cooling systems integration, and partner with outside suppliers to satisfy all demands. We strive to minimize cycle times and provide best value through the utilization of dynamic and agile processes.

RHS has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer to support Rapid Hardware Solutions. The RHS Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate with mechanical, electrical and cooling systems design engineering to execute electro-mechanical packaging and cooling hardware integration in a prototype high mix/low volume environment. The RHS Manufacturing Engineer will work directly with assembly operators and quality engineering to resolve process and design issues in a fast paced, first time build environment.


Responsibilities to anticipate:
  • Process planning
  • Tooling and equipment designation
  • Writing and maintaining work instructions/operational procedures
  • Disposition hardware non-conformances and resolve with Quality and Design.
  • Support quality and safety compliance auditing
  • Incorporate change notifications
  • Support manufacturing floor
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 2+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a product development environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in a team environment / project leadership role
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
