Manufacturing Engineers learn production operations and the manufacturing discipline in a controlled environment. They develop manufacturing engineering skills, an understanding of manufacturing (cost, quality, safety and schedule), and RMS systems and tools. MEs build technical depth in manufacturing processes and are accountable for improvement and optimization.

**Please Note: This position is located at the Raytheon Din Facility in Farmington, NM. RTX- Din Facility adheres to the Navajo Nation Preference in Employment Act in areas of recruitment and hiring practices.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Design, control, and improve the manufacturing process through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team
  • Translate engineering design requirements into manufacturing processes
  • Interface with all factory functions
  • Implement manufacturing process control and performance monitoring
  • Create and oversee improvement projects
  • Perform hardware defect analysis
  • Participate in corrective action investigations

An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience as follows: Masters is equal to 2 years of experience or a Ph.D. is equal to 5 years of experience.

This position can be Manufacturing Engineer I or Manufacturing Engineer II depending on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.


Qualifications You Must Have:
Manufacturing Engineer I
  • Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
    Preferred Degrees in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience with the interpretation of technical documentation
  • Experience/Education in the creation of instructions (Examples: writing work instructions for how to do a task, assembly instructions for how to build something, or technical instructions on how to troubleshoot a failure)
  • Experience in solving engineering problems by using engineering principles to find and fix an issue with a hardware, software, or electrical system
  • Experience with project execution
  • Experience with lean manufacturing
  • Experience with hands-on troubleshooting (Examples could include hobbies working on or maintaining machines / equipment, experiences taking things apart and putting them back together, digging in to code or programming to solve a problem, etc.)
Manufacturing Engineer II
  • Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
    Preferred degrees in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience or Masters Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Experience with the interpretation of engineering technical drawings
  • Experience with the creation of assembly work instructions in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in solving multi-disciplined engineering problems where multiple engineering principles must be considered in the solution to the problem. (Example: statics, dynamics, capacity, fatigue, thermal, learning curves, statistics, software, vibration, shock, resistance, timing, fluids, etc)
  • Experience with project execution
  • Experience with lean manufacturing
  • Experience with a shop floor management system (Examples could include: SAP, PRISM, ERP, MRP, or similar manufacturing software)
  • Experience with hands-on troubleshooting (Examples could include hobbies working on or maintaining machines / equipment, experiences taking things apart and putting them back together, digging in to code or programming to solve a problem, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value:

  • Experience in teaching / mentoring operators on the factory floor
  • Experience or education with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance analysis
  • Advanced problem solving skills
  • Experience in tool design / 3D Printing
  • Active DOD Security clearance
Working Environments:
This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending time in and around factory areas.
