Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer is accountable for supporting the design and layout teams in early reference design phases of process through tape out and assembly in multiple mfg. factories. Strategic technical interface between product design teams and manufacturing, supporting new technology development by influencing next-gen product definition to ensure products can be assembled in High Volume Manufacturing. 


 The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to:


  • Partner with design and technology teams to help influence and drive capabilities required for both internal and external platforms.
  • Conduct design for Manufacturability/Assembly analysis and provide feedback to achieve improvements on manufacturability, quality, and cost.
  • Coordinates NPI build execution, owns manufacturing deliverables including labeling, process enabling, issue resolution, manufacturing deviations, ECOs, rework, and process improvement at the factory.
  • Work with Design Engineers, Material Managers, and Planners to review board designs, validate platform mechanicals, propose improved parts, BOM review, 1st article fit checks, generate MAIs, develop factory assembly methods.
  • Maximizing efficiencies with factory tooling design, and implementation; product DFA reviews and assembly workflow optimization.
  • Develop and review indicators to measure performance to ensure quality standards are being met.
  • Establish collateral needed by customers to enable them to successfully and cost-effectively integrate products in their production environment.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors and/or Master's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 


  •  4+ years of experience in at least one of the following: 
    • Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Valor, and Cadence Allegro tools.
    • SMT and Through Hole-related components and technologies in support of PCBA manufacturing are required.
    • Board/System Manufacturing or equivalent field of Electronics Assy.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the use of Statistical Tools and Software such as JMP.
  • Background in thermal-mechanical assembly or similar skillsets.
  • AutoCAD tool for the design of panel or multipack drawings.
  • Board-level labeling and packaging of assembled units
  • Reviewing Bill of Materials for PCB assembly and packaging for products being assembled and built.
