Manufacturing Engineer, Dynamic Assemblies

Primary responsibility is the creation of clear and concise process planning work instructions for high value aerospace rotors and transmission dynamic assemblies. Planning instructions are based on design requirements and company / industry standards with compliance to company procedures and documented engineering standard work
Other responsibilities include:
- Creating the concept, ordering and evaluation of tooling for dynamic assembly process operations. This effort includes working with Tool Designers, Tool Makers and Suppliers to coordinate the fabrication and implementation of these assembly tools
- Providing engineering support for production issues while working in an integrated team environment with Operations, Quality, Material and Tooling personnel. Identify the root cause and effective corrective actions to eliminate quality and schedule issues
- Develop cost reduction initiatives for continuous improvement of assembly operations
- Producibility reviews for engineering change (EC) packages

Basic Qualifications
- Engineering experience with mechanical assemblies

- Minimum 2 years of experience with CATIA (or equivalent) computer-aided-design graphics software

- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles

- Expertise with the interpretation of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing standards

- Solid communication skills
