Job Summary:

This is a second shift position which includes an 8% added pay differential.

Second shift Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Value Stream (VS) Manufacturing Engineers provide off-shift general floor support across multiple product lines. They will interface between different disciplines (Operations, Ops Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality) and different manufacturing areas (Product Value Stream, Surface Mount Technology, Test, Conformal Coat) during the product build cycle in CCA. Attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills, and an organized and innovative approach to problem root cause and corrective action (RC/CA) will contribute to success in the role. The daily responsibilities for a successful second shift engineer will include, but will not be limited to; resolution of production issues, process improvement and cycle time reduction projects, identification of hours per unit (HPU) recovery opportunities, and development and update of production process documentation.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Creating and overseeing projects using risk management techniques
  • Translating engineering design requirements into formal manufacturing process documentation
  • Providing real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators
  • Computer and machine programming for manufacturing automation
  • Dispositioning of discrepant hardware
  • Leading root cause and corrective action investigations to solve problems and prevent recurrence
  • Participate in process improvement and cost reduction initiatives using Lean Manufacturing methodology
  • Manufacturing process development and support
  • Conducting safety / ergonomic assessments
  • Interaction with senior personnel on technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and / or suppliers.

Qualification You Must Have:
  • Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Applied Physics.
  • 2+ years of Manufacturing/Operations experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:
  • Knowledge and experience with ANSI J-STD-001 Class 3, MIL-PRF-38534, and MIL-STD-883
  • Experience in applying Lean Manufacturing principals
  • Experience with supporting circuit card assembly production floor, (process and/or quality focus).
  • Specialized Tooling Development (Jigs, Fixtures, Specialized Packaging Development)
  • Knowledge and ability to apply Six Sigma principles and techniques
  • Experience in DFMA principles
  • Strong organization skills with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Detail oriented with strong coordination skills
