The Manager, WW Digital Merchandising will be a key leader within the Digital Experience & Merchandising team. This individual will be the business owner for accessories, Audio, Connected Home and AppleCare, driving performance across all our digital platforms through ongoing performance management, attach and recommendations, merchandising story telling and continuous analysis of shopper-led, data driven insights, with a meticulous test and learn approach. The candidate will be the accessories merchandising SME on projects including buy flow redesigns, merchandising tools and functionality development, and other strategic forward looking accessory merchandising initiatives.

The right candidate will be an experienced leader, with a strong eye for business, experience overseeing a sophisticated, global business, and a specialist in best in class digital practices.

This WW role will oversee a small team leading all elements of the digital merchandising of accessories, Audio, Connected Home, and AppleCare. The individual will be responsible for analysis/insights, merchandising performance and optimizations, as well as attach and category revenue targets. The successful candidate will drive a digital accessories merchandising transformation, defining and driving implementation of outstanding merchandising strategies and supporting tools that will build seamless, streamlined digital journeys for our customers.

Key Qualifications

  • 7-10 years digital merchandising or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of management experience.
  • Validated experience establishing vision and goals and developing strategic and tactical plans.
  • Outstanding analytical and numerical aptitude; proficient in site analytics tools and comfortable working with data sets and making decisions based on data.
  • Deep knowledge of the retail industry and digital commerce and omnichannel trends.
  • Experience in personalization merchandising desired.
  • Outstanding ability to problem solve, develop creative solutions, and demonstrate resourcefulness.
  • Proven experience translating business priorities into impactful merchandising stories.
  • Experience working closely with creative and UX teams to build customer experiences and define shopping journeys.
  • Experience building internal and cross functional processes to support new work streams.
  • Experience leading across a matrixed team structure covering a broad scope of work.
  • Has the ability to build a robust team that drives detailed execution with accountability for results.
  • Demonstrated people manager who builds capabilities of individuals and teams through effective employee development, involvement, communication, and guidance.
  • High attention to detail, obsesses over performance metrics, continuously aiming for impact.
  • Excellent project management skills, including work prioritization and planning.
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills.

Description
- Lead the development of the digital accessories, Audio, Connected Home, and AppleCare merchandising strategic plans to deliver successful financial results.
- Establish a baseline performance standard for merchandising platforms, placements, and content.
- Clearly understand business and engagement, report out regularly on performance and identify meaningful insights.
- Partner with key cross functional teams including Retail Finance, Digital Content Management, Marcom, Retail Stores, and Product Management, to drive digital merchandising performance, identify key areas of opportunity and work towards impact across digital platforms and touch points.
- Collaborate with Regional Digital Experience & Merchandising teams to develop region-specific merchandising plans, and with WW NPI & Campaigns merchandisers to co-ordinate seasonal accessories stories and inform attach strategies.
- Write creative briefs for development of projects and content. Co-develop merchandising requirements for project briefs with cross functional partners.
- Partner closely with Retail Product Merchandising team on holistic Retail accessories strategy (short/medium/long term).
- Identify and prioritize key merchandising improvement opportunities by utilizing sales and engagement data, customer feedback, and through partnership with the Conversion, A/B testing & Analytics teams.
- Understand segment, regional, seasonal nuances and build strategies to best optimize merchandising placements and platforms as appropriate.
- Partner with AppleCare teams to understand strategic priorities and develop merchandising plans and roadmaps for driving attach performance.
- Partner with the Product Management team to define and prioritize the development of new merchandising functionality across platforms, and enhanced merchandizing tools and capabilities.
- Collaborate with Future of Digital team on merchandising insights, trends and desired customer experiences in the development of platform and omni-channel strategies.
- Establish team as the inspiring leader in industry standard methodologies, assessing and presenting their potential impact on the business.
- Provide coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve business and customer goals.

Education & Experience

BA/BS required, MBA a plus

Additional Requirements

  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Regular meetings with peers in Asia and Europe during overlapping business hours.
