Job Description:

The Supplier Quality (SQ) Manager leads a team of SQ Engineers, who are the primary Quality interface between the RMD programs and its supply base. This includes providing both communication of quality requirements and performance feedback to the supply base, as well as being a conduit for Quality information back to internal functions within the product line. The SQ Manager is responsible for developing team members, to include giving performance feedback, mentoring, and rewarding positive behavior and results, as applicable. The SQ Manager will guide SQ Engineers in analysis of defect data, to identify and act on systemic issues within a suppliers Quality Management System. The SQ Manager will provide problem resolution, and guide SQ Engineers in the conduct of continuous improvement activities at suppliers facilities. The SQ Manager works cross functionally in support of the program and is a key player in supplier risk mitigation and problem resolution. The SQ Manager represents RMD professionally and supports Raytheon Technologies Vision, Values, Strategy and Goals in the supply base.

This position can be either Manager or Sr. Manger, Supplier Quality & Development based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position

This position covers an assignment as a Supplier Quality Manager preferred location MA.


Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Ensuring proper program and MDA requirements are flown down to suppliers and ensuring supplier and mission critical sub-tier supplier compliance with requirements
Building and maintaining customers relationships to include fulfillment of supplier quality related requests
Coaching and mentoring supplier quality engineers to ensure performance continuous improvement.
Assessing major subcontractor/ supplier quality capabilities throughout the program life cycle to achieve full program objectives
Identifying supplier risk and systemic performance issues, creating business cases for risks and opportunities, and ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective solutions are identified and implemented with closure plans
Driving continuous product / process improvements using statistical / analytical improvement tools such as PPAP, Six Sigma, and lean methodologies
Working with other quality functions, supply chain, and engineering to affect rapid closure of issues utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skills
Supporting internal assessments and supplier MAP/PMAP assessments, MFTA audits, and reviews

Managing expectations and providing supplier quality engineers direction in an environment of conflicting priorities

Qualifications You Must Have

Eight (8) years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.
Bachelors Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).
Practical knowledge of Aerospace or commercial equivalent Preventative tools - SPC, FMEA, QFD, PPAP, APQP etc.
Practical knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action processes
General understanding of commercial and aerospace / defense regulations and standards such as AS9100, AS9102, ISO-9000, AS9145, MDA Assurance provisions (MAP)
Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional process improvement teams

Qualifications We Value:

Six Sigma, Lean and / or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.)
MS Engineering / Technical or MBA
Proven successes in building and maintaining relationships with multiple suppliers / customers
Experience in DoD product and process oversight including requirements, build, integration, test and delivery

Strong leader that exhibits presence and influence with experience leading or managing a team
Experience in business case development and project planning
General knowledge of aerospace / defense products and systems technologies
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with customers, suppliers, and program in a team environment

Effective presentation skills and written communication

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. An active, in scope Secret clearance is a plus. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
