Manager, QA — Comcast Cable Communications, LLC, Philadelphia, PA.


Manage teams responsible for developing, testing, deploying, and supporting the Xfinity Stream and TV Remote applications that allow millions of daily users across all platforms to watch television on their iOS, Android, web, Roku, or Smart TV devices; manage workload and capacity on the team to triage defects (reported by testers, other parts of the team, and customers); aggregate device and operating system (OS) usage in analytics platforms and track market trends to establish device inventory for testing, creating, and executing test cases; analyze error and crash trends in production to reproduce and create solutions; run Quality Assurance scrum meetings to identify patterns in customer feedback to identify bugs and/or pain points within applications; test HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) video delivery to mobile devices for video quality, closed captions, SAP (secondary audio programming), and video description; oversee QA testing (including test case automation and management, defect management, and HLS video quality testing); execute HTTP proxying, including analyzing and manipulating REST web services to test failure conditions and data; define and implement test strategies and processes; testing releases before they go out to customers; directly supervise four (4) Quality Assurance Engineers; and utilize understanding of complex requirements for mobile applications’ feature development used by Comcast and their syndication partners, and create test cases for them as necessary.


Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, any Engineering, or a related technical field, and eight (8) years of experience performing QA testing for consumer-facing applications available on multiple platforms, of which five (5) years must include executing HTTP proxying, including analyzing and manipulating REST web services to test failure conditions and data; and of which three (3) years includes performing test case automation.
