The Mission Assurance Manager represents Mission Assurance (MA) on program leadership and capture teams, and planning and implementing the program quality system. The Mission Assurance Manager will perform the following:
  • Communicate program goals, objectives, requirements and customer feedback.
  • Provide program direction to assure quality tasking is accomplished within budget, on time and as defined in program planning.
  • Define, collect, analyze, maintain and present MA metrics.
  • Establish customer relations and process and validate customer corrective action requests.
  • Assess impact of potential customer escapes.
  • Chair or co-chair program corrective action board (CAB) to ensure effective RCCA for internal RCAS
  • Help develop quality metrics to continuously monitor the programs health and generate discussions and actions to improve processes, designs, or materials.
  • Perform independent reviews and assessments of program performance, including independent technical assessments of systems engineering, Quality Assurance (QA), lessons learned, technology, production and programmatic (cost, schedule, quality and risks) practices assuring supplier Quality management System (QMS) processes are defined and implemented.
    This position will support Stinger Program within the Land Warfare & Air Defense product line. Stinger is a diverse program containing both mature production contracts and fast-turn development contracts. This candidate will thus need experience on all program phases and often work within integrated teams to instill process rigor throughout the development environments. The Mission Assurance Manager will provide support for transition to production activities, including Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis, First Article Inspections, and Quality Control Plans. The candidate will also assist in leading the quality responsibility in Material Review Boards, Change Control Boards, Engineering Review Boards, Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action (FRACAS), and Risk Review Boards.

    A successful Mission Assurance Manager will have the ability to provide the aforementioned skills in a fast-paced and diverse environment. Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to drive results in dynamic, sometimes ambiguous, environments. There are often quick reaction contracts with minimal established requirements initially. This requires the Mission Assurance Manager to have experience and discretion to give appropriate direction on a wide variety of product and program issues.

    NOTE: This position can be a Mission Assurance Manager I or a Mission Assurance Manager II based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

    Required Skills:
  • Four (4) years of related Quality Engineering experience
  • Experience in supporting manufacturing and/or design processes
  • Experience in development/usage of Quality metrics and the identification/institution of perceptive verifications
  • Experience and knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, CMMI or Mission Assurance Provisions
  • Ability to interpret drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials, consumable materials control, process disciplines and tool control
  • Manufacturing process knowledge (assembly, inspection, test)
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance

    Desired Skills:
  • Six (6) years of related Quality Engineering experience
  • Six Sigma, Lean and / or American Society for Quality (ASQ) certifications
  • Level 4 or higher Mission Assurance Certification (Internal candidates)
  • General knowledge of aerospace / defense products and systems technologies
  • Experienced in Design/Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis, Regression Analysis and other statistical analysis techniques
  • Proficient in the Configuration Change Board, Engineering Review Board, FRACAS Board, and Risk Review Board processes and knowledgeable in the quality role in these boards
  • Strong leadership skills that exhibits presence and influence
  • Passionate, high-energy, self-starting team player who achieves goals and strives for continuous improvement
  • Effective verbal and written communication and networking skills to work with upper management and customers
  • Highly effective written and verbal presentation skills
  • Competency in a relevant technical discipline with understanding of engineering principles and design analysis techniques
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions and implement robust process controls
  • Knowledge in Supplier Quality Engineering, including the applicable PRISM transactions and Q-Notes
    Required Education:
  • Bachelors Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics
