The Manager – Generation Asset Management leads the Generation Asset Management Department in the implementation of a sustainable asset management program for Chelan PUD's (District) Generation assets; focused on equipment inspection and condition assessment, reliability centered maintenance, risk assessment and input to capital allocation, and operations and maintenance planning. This position also supports utility wide asset management to ensure consistency and prioritization of resources, sets the tone for Asset Management with Generation and Transmission, and provides cross-functional leadership to other areas of the District.

#   EF/SF % of Time   Job Functions

1.   EF   20% Asset Management Leadership:   Provides leadership to the Generation Asset Management Department, and guidance for Transmission Asset Management in development and implementation of Asset Management (AM) practices and principals.


2.   EF   15% Strategy:   Develop and maintain asset management strategies (high level and class), practices, processes and procedures.   Contributes to the District’s vision and values by contributing to strategic goals, specifically “Manage assets in a sustainable way”.


3.   EF   10% Management:   Manage Asset Management Analysts and Documentation Specialists work, department budget, and contract services.


4.   EF   10% Continuous Improvement:   Develop and continuously improve equipment inspection and condition assessment program(s) to meet District and business unit objectives.


5.   EF   10% Reliability & Risk:   Support Asset Managers and subject matter experts in the performance of reliability centered maintenance, failure mode analysis and risk assessment.


6.   EF   10% Develop and continuously improve condition-based maintenance processes designed to meet District and business unit objectives.


7.   EF   10% Long Term Planning:   Develop and manage long term plans for equipment maintenance, upgrades and replacements.


8.   EF   10% Stay abreast and remain knowledgeable of asset management standards and methodologies by conducting research, participating in user groups and standards organizations.


9.   EF   5%   Collaboration:   Collaborates with other utility departments including Finance, Risk, Transmission, Distribution, Networks, and Water/Waste Water regarding utility wide asset management processes.



Directly supervises approximately four (4) employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS: The qualifications listed below are representative of those required, but reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.


Post-Secondary Education:

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in engineering or a degree in a quantitative specialty such as mathematics, finance, actuarial science, engineering, or economics from a four-year college or university; or the equivalent combination of education, experience and training is required. Graduate level management degree (MBA or similar) focusing in Asset Management principles, or master’s degree in an applicable study area desired.



Minimum ten (10) years progressively responsible experience in a major capital equipment intensive industry, electrical utility preferred. Experience to include a minimum of five (5) years managing, planning or analyzing equipment maintenance, performance data, risk, reliability centered maintenance activities, or asset management systems. Experience in generating plant operations and maintenance preferred. Experience in supervising staff and providing leadership to various parts of a diverse organization preferred.
