Logic Technology Development is responsible for developing advanced silicon process technologies and high-volume silicon manufacturing. LTD Sort/Test Group supports electrical test on both the wafer and the packaged unit of xChips consists of all Intel's lead transistor node technologies like 10nm, 7nm, 5nm and beyond.

The Burnin Product Development Engineer works with Design, Quality, and Test Module engineers to develop and validate test programs and patterns used to stress the packaged units. These engineers work on both XChips and lead revenue products to certify new process technologies and to support the reliability learning and high-volume burnin model build.

To develop and ensure high quality burnin test programs, the successful candidate is responsible for utilizing, developing and debugging complex software programs and scripts to convert test pattern vectors, integrate patterns into Burn-In test programs to communicate with the tester HW resources and drive automatic test equipment. Also, the engineer collaborates with engineers from several cross-functional teams to define the stress content based on understanding the process/product certification requirements, details of chip design related to the stress contents and test equipment capabilities and drives continuous improvement/optimization through the data analysis and collaborations. This engineer will work on both two different BurnIn platforms, LCBI and HDBI.

The additional responsibilities of this position includes but are not limited to the following:

  • Performing evaluation, development, and debug of new test programs, methodologies of test program flows.

  • Working with the module/design/content owners and quality and reliability team to build test programs from definition through integration and validation and to release in production, debugging and continuously improving the software tools and scripts.

  • Identifying and meeting current and future test challenges and requirements.

  • Driving statistical analysis of burn-in fail data and key test parameters to improve the stress coverage and the data quality.

  • Working with module/content owners on the tester platform development and improvement in yield and hardware capacity/capability.

  • Exercising keen attention to details with a focus towards efficiency, standardization, and proliferation of best practices across products.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidate must possess a Ph.D. Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering/Computer Science or in equivalent field. Must have the required degree or expect the required degree by November/2021.

6+ months of work experience in:

  • Circuit validation or design, analog and/or digital test method and integrated chip electrical test knowledge.

  • Hardware language, software programming skill or scripting skill such as Visual Basic, C/C++/C#, RTL or Python.


Preferred Qualifications:
-6+ months of experience in the following (more than one is preferred):

  • Experience with digitral circuit design, use of a logic analyzer or bench electrical debug tools.

  • Experience bringing test content to the ATE environment: ranging from writing the tests, writing or configuring the conversion software state equations and supporting flows, to debugging the content on RTL, emulator or ATE.

  • Experience in some aspect of Product Development Engineering such as pattern pre-silicon or post-silicon validation on other platforms is a plus.

  • Knowledge/course work in semiconductor device physics, fundamentals of testing, digital electronics principles, microprocessor basics, basics of VLSI design, programming, computer architecture, data structures

  • Experience in Quality and Reliability data collection and knowledge of statistical data analysis.

  • Experience in design simulation tools such as Intel's VTPsim, SimRegress

  • Experience in creating generic SW solutions with high code reuse, creating logical/statistical decision making flow and participating in design and code reviews based on C++, Visual Basic, Python or etc.
