Job Summary:

Successful candidate for the Summer 2022 Internship position will participate in analog design teams supporting primarily military programs through application of EE tools and design processes. Chosen candidate will be a team member working on the design, analysis and support of Missiles & Defense electronics products. This may include digital, analog, power and/or mixed signal circuit card assemblies.

Depending on the individuals area of interest and experience, responsibilities may include:

  • Participating as a team member in detailed circuit design
  • Functional analysis
  • Functional verification testing
  • Working with engineering and production personnel to troubleshoot and provide root cause and corrective action to design and process issues

The chosen candidate will learn frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, concepts and techniques. Candidates will be expected to provide recommendations to a variety of technical problems of appropriate scope and complexity, working under general supervision. Successful candidates should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.


Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Designing circuits
  • Testing electronic hardware
  • Analyzing and simulating electronic designs
  • Programming test capabilities
  • Selecting parts (and alternate parts) for electronic designs

This position can be a Junior or Senior or Post-Graduate based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:
  • (Freshman Technical Intern)- must be enrolled in a Bachelors degree program
  • (Sophomore Technical Intern)- must have completed 30 credit hours by start of internship
  • (Junior Technical Intern)- must have completed 60 credit hours of college by start of internship
  • (Senior Technical Intern)- must have completed 90 credit hours of college by start of internship
  • (Post-Graduate Technical Intern)- must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Must be a Junior, Senior or Post-Graduate by the start of Summer 2022 in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Coursework in Analog Circuit design and/or Control Theory.
  • Coursework in Mathematics to include Calculus 1.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:
  • Lab experience with analog electronics.
  • Coursework specific to power electronics and/or motor controls electronics.
  • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coworkers from diverse communities and cultures
  • Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles
