Job Description

Linux OS Systems Engineering: Builds Linux Operating Systems to efficiently power Intel's leadership products.

As a Technical Software Program Manager your role will require you to

  • Manage programs to support the organization's strategic direction
  • Lead a matrixed, cross functional team contained within a larger organization that are directly tied to the development, implementation or upgrade of technology or products for internal and external customers
  • Drive creation and execution of the program Plan of Record, including Scope, Requirements Management, Success Criteria, Schedule, Resources, and Quality
  • Creates/tracks/adjusts the program schedule. Assesses risks and identifies solutions to timely, efficient achievement of program goals
  • Manage interdependencies and integration among multiple projects, teams, and stakeholders. Role has decision making authority at the program level. Sets direction for programs by determining and balancing the technical need vs business impact of project/program decisions and operates within the guardrails
  • Responsible for stakeholder management, including coordination of departmental or cross functional/cross organizational teams as well as communication within the organization, outward to other internal groups and external customers. Acts as a single program voice
  • Exercises judgment and discretion to develop solutions, remove obstacles and redefine approaches. Oversees identification of tasks and research, dependencies, costs and communicates expectations to core team members.
  • Ensures that quality standards and budget constraints are met. Ensures appropriate progress against schedule and takes remedial action as appropriate
  • Has a basic understanding of the technical concepts, architecture, systems, development methods, and disciplines associated with the defined program

  • Proven track record of effective diverse stakeholder management and working experience with cross geo stakeholders and engineering teams
  • Willing to operate in extremely ambiguous environments
  • Experience to maintain and update detailed schedules with a thorough understanding of dependency management, key milestones, including critical path analysis
  • Excellent communication skills, executive presence, and the ability to succinctly articulate the key points program status
  • Lifelong learner and someone who challenges status quo


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Education Requirement

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of program management expertise especially experienced in software engineering or program management.

3+ years experience working on Linux based OS, working with internal stakeholders as well as working with an externally facing open-source projects.

Experience as a technical lead or manager with robust leadership skills along with the ability to work across organizational boundaries.
