Lecturer/Associate/Full Teaching Professor of ECE at UM-SJTU Joint Institute

The University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (JI) invites applications for Lecturer, Associate and Full Teaching Professor positions in all emerging fields related to Electrical and Computer Engineering.

JI was founded in 2006 in Shanghai, China, with strong support from both partner universities and the Chinese government. It offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. programs in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Material Science & Engineering. The JI models itself after world class U.S. research universities, in terms of academic environment, faculty expectations, graduate research and undergraduate curricula. English is the official language of JI. The students are among China’s best.

Responsibilities:

1. Deliver up to 6 classes per academic year;
2. Guide TAs in conducting recitation classes and grading students’ work;
3. Participate in other institutional activities, including curriculum development, committee service, etc.

1. A doctoral degree in related field;
2. Native-level English skills (native speaker preferred);
3. For Electrical and Computer Engineering, rich experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in but not limited to circuits, computer, electromagnetics and control;
4. Lab development experience a plus;
5. Industrial experience a plus.
