The Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics Group (AXG)  CTO team is looking for a Lead Technical Artist that will lead the tech art team in a collaborative multi-discipline environment to apply novel artistic looks and techniques to tell the story behind the new graphics features on a GPU product roadmap. Your team will work closely with designers, engineers, and others to create next generation environments and characters. You'll help create and maintain a streamlined workflow for tools and art content, set priorities, and work with others to organize teamwork efforts. As a technical lead it will be your responsibility to design, develop, and implement small and mid-size visual storytelling projects, technical demos, and public 3D assets to fuel Intel's growth in the areas of graphics, simulation, academic research, and new business opportunities. May participate in development of intellectual property. May coordinate interdepartmental art projects. The computer graphics industry is at an inflection point today and top-notch advanced graphics research is KEY for Intel to be the leader in this era.


You must meet the minimum qualifications below to be considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Sixteen years of experience in AAA game development serving in a technical art role
* At least six years serving in a leading role
* Self-motivated, excellent communication skills, and a great team-player
* Excellent understanding of current real-time rendering technologies, game engines and pipelines
* Excellent proficiency in at least one area of visual development
* Well-rounded skillset in all areas of real-time art and design
* Demonstrated portfolio of professional and personal work
* Professional experience shipping AAA next-gen game/CGI products
* Flexibility to adopt and deliver content under varying requirements and deadlines
* Interested in and able to design and implement next generation visuals
* Proven problem-solving skills, along with the ability to rapidly prototype
* Technical proficiency in areas of 3D art and modeling
* Exemplary in DCC such as 3DS Max, Maya, Photoshop etc. ideally an advanced scripting level
* Working knowledge of scripting/programming using languages such as MaxScript, Python, C Sharp etc.
* Knowledge of source control software (such as git)
* Excellent time management and prioritization skills
* Demonstrated initiative and motivation to tackle technical challenges

Preferred Qualifications:
* Art or a technical degree
* Knowledge of PC GPUs strengths and limitations
* Knowledge of different hardware architectures (e.g., consoles)
* Four+ years of experience working in a GPU hardware vendor company
