Job Description

The Lead Project Engineer position in the Electronic Warfare Analysis Modeling and Analysis Division (EWMAD) will be responsible for leading technical projects and tasks related to the modeling, simulation and analysis of Electronic Warfare (EW) systems. Also, the Lead Project Engineer will control and manage research projects and sponsored contracts related to radio frequency (RF), Electro-Optical (EO), and Infrared (IR) applied research supporting Electronic Warfare applications. This position will be responsible for advancing a portfolio of projects and for engagement with new and existing sponsors on current efforts as well as potential future support.

Job Duties:

  • Lead technical tasks, projects, and/or technical teams to meet project objectives
  • Provide subject matter expertise related to the modeling, simulation, and analysis of EW systems
  • Collaborate with project team members and project sponsors to specify technical requirements, schedules, and program risk analysis
  • Manage projects across the full lifecycle from proposal through initiation, execution, and closeout
  • Monitor and update project/task cost, schedule, and technical performance metrics throughout the project
  • Develop and present technical presentations for internal peer reviews, sponsor reviews, and business development initiatives
  • Document analysis and maintain configuration management for all software and experiments
  • Interact with program sponsors and their representatives to ensure sponsor satisfaction with research and work products
  • Track and prepare qualitative and quantitative reports related to program outcomes
  • Assist in the design, development, and demonstration of EW simulation experiments
  • Develop and integrate scripts to allow researchers to gather and analyze critical data from the simulation runs
  • Perform analysis on the simulations to determine the efficacy of EW techniques and optimize the techniques
  • Mentor junior engineers on best practices for technical project execution
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist II

  • A Masters degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, Business Administration, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Masters degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, Business Administration, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelors degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, Business Administration, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.

Senior Research Engineer/Scientist

  • A Masters degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, Business Administration, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field and seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Masters degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, Business Administration, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field and nine (9) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelors degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, Business Administration, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field and four (4) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with technical programs related to RF sensors and systems
  • Experience with US Government contracts and subcontract management
  • Experience with configuration management tools
  • Experience communicating technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to get and maintain a DoD clearance 

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
